'That damn game'

My college experience has been writing for The Michigan Daily. I've written hundreds of stories as a sports writer for the Daily and spent almost every night for the past two years running production as one of the two sports editors. I chose to include in my ePortfolio one of my favorite piece I've written for the Daily, one which required the most work of almost any story I did in a lot of regards, mostly in reporting, interviewing and making narrative choices about how to arrange material. I did almost no writing of my own for this story, so the entire process was deciding how to tell this story best.

'That damn game lives in my soul,' the immortal Jon Falk told me on the subject of the 1994 "Miracle at Michigan," in which the Michigan football team lost to Colorado on a Hail Mary with no time remaining. Falk wasn't the only one who had something to say about that game. As Colorado returned to Ann Arbor last fall, I took a look back at the schools' memorable meeting to discover how much has faded and still how much lingers in the minds of those who lived it.
